The major complaint when it was opened was the horrible smokey conditions which took months to correct. Table games were added in the summer 0f 2010. Many think the exterior is ugly, looks like a bunch of boxes randomly piled on top of each other. PARX opened in December 2009 to replace the adjacent original casino (a dump) at the Philadelphia Park Race Track. It's obvious Parx doesn't care about non smokers or they would do something about this and every time I go there my clothes always smell like smoke. The few times I have seen someone tell a smoker to stop smoking in the non smoking area, they light up again as soon as the worker walks away. I have seen workers walk right by someone smoking and they don't say anything. It is very common to find people smoking in the non smoking section, and most of the time the workers refuse to do anything about it. The machine itself on the small screen where it displays information shows if the machine is non smoking or smoking but it is very small and easy to miss. The problem is that the non smoking sections are poorly marked with few signs and they are small. I have nothing against people wanting to smoke as long as they stay in the smoking the sections. The Casino itself is ok, there is a wide variety of slot machines and many tables games but their treatment of non smokers is a disgrace.
